"What's your sign?" I still remember people asking that immediately after an introduction back in the 60's and 70's. We've all been amused by daily horoscopes in the newspaper and such. There are also those who erroneously view astrology as an occult religion and denounce it without understanding, as well as those who can distinguish between fantasy and the science of cycles, radio waves, and gravity, and use astrology as an aid to decision-making with great success.
As with any discipline, for every competent practitioner there is a charlatan who makes a mockery of the discipline and a lazy dolt who scratches the surface and claims "grand master" status, so some people are understandably "turned off" of the idea. If you are someone who has issues with astrology, you are cordially invited to simply not participate in this forum. Those who are interested really don't care what you think about it and anything you have to say will fall on deaf ears. As with all other parts of this forum, you are encouraged to participate in the areas that interest you and abstain from posting judgmental or bigoted statements against other users. And as with all other sections of this forum, violation will get you banned, so if you have an ax to grind, grind it elsewhere.
